The Belgian groove master opens up about his unique musical world and why he finally started singing on his own tracks.
WHO’S POMRAD?
Pomrad: I make music, in my home studio with a lot of synthesizers and samplers and pianos. I think it’s a crossover between wonky beats, jazz fusion, 80’s Funk-Soul and some Indie Pop-Folk ish things.
DESCRIBE YOUR ALBUM IN THREE WORDS?
Pomrad: Dreamy, Nostalgic and maybe also Energetic.
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO SING ON YOUR OWN SONG NOW?
Pomrad : Well, I enjoy the singing life a few years ago, but I did sing backing vocals. A lot of backing vocals with a lot of bands. And then I discovered that I can sing. And then I studied a little bit how to sing, like, technical. And then, I was always held back because as producer and musician, that’s your role and that’s what I do. So singing is something strange, something out of my comfort zone but I took the risk and tried it. And it’s still evolving because it’s really hard to do, especially live. It took me 6 or 7 years to practice. But now it’s getting there somewhere.
