We were lucky enough to be at the Bandler Ching trio’s release party at the Ancienne Belgique a few weeks ago. We took the opportunity to capture a few images from the gig and ask them a few questions about their second album and their creative process.
WHO’S BANDLER CHING?
Francesco: Bandler Ching is not a Jazz group.
Ambroose : But more like a group who plays with every music genres.
Olivier: We try to combine alectronic and acoustic music.
DESCRIBE BANDLER CHING IN THREE WORDS:
Olivier: If I want to take one word to describe Bandler Ching it’s radical. Because we like to make bold choices and have contrasting sounds and ideas in our music.
Francesco: For me it’s danceable. Because you can listen to on the record or live and dance into it.
Ambroose : And for me it’s the imagination that allow us to use every ideas we have in mind.
WHAT’S YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS?
Ambroose : the way we create is a mix of the ideas we have in rehearsal and then we start to work like in a laboratory at volta where we work each one has his part and each one add something and, it become the songs that exists now.
Olivier: For this album we also recorded by ourselve and produced by ourselve. It also allow us to really realize our idea.
